Ryan Huna Smith is a member of the Colorado River Indian Tribes, Parker, Arizona. He was born in Parker and raised in Needles, California. He attended the Institute of American Indian Arts in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and received a certification in Two Dimensional Art in 1987. He then transferred to the University of Arizona in Tucson where he received his bachelor's degree in Fine Arts with an emphasis in Illustration in 1994. Ryan currently resides in Tucson with his wife Tamara, his two daughters Heather and Taryn, and his son Ryan Jr. He is a Program Manager with the Upward Bound Program at Pima Community College, East Campus, and a member of PCC’s Adjunct Art Faculty. Ryan also works as a freelance artist and illustrator.
