Linda Taylor | Illustrator Biography

Brought up on the Navajo Reservation, Linda spent her days as a child tending sheep and goats. She learned the art of weaving from her mother, Lydia Redhorse Bradley, who would often request Linda to help her with weaving when she was busy with other chores

Linda started painting in oils during her college days at Eastern New Mexico University, where she earned her bachelor's degree in Art Education in 1966. Shortly after graduation, Linda illustrated Navajo-related curriculum materials for the school districts in Shiprock and Gallup, after which Linda began working in the civil service.

After her retirement in 2002, Linda seriously returned to weaving intricate Navajo tapestries. Her work has won awards at the Heard Museum Indian Market, the Mesa Verde Indian Art Show, and the New Mexico State Fair.

Currently, Linda and her husband TE operate a hay farm in southwest Colorado. They have two daughters and two grandsons.
