Helen lau Running is a grant writer consultant and, the assistant editor of the Navajo-Hopi Observer newspaper, which is based in Flagstaff, Arizona.
Originally form Trinidad, West Indies, her eclectic range of interests and activities have included the use of the camera as a tool to record an intimate engagement with the Native people and lands of the Colorado Plateau. Her academic background, with its environmental studies and communications focus, has significantly contributed to her commitment and involvement with the experiential component of learning experiences and projects.
An avid nature walker and wilderness lover, the Ponderosa forests, the rivers and canyons of the American Southwest have been the incubator in which she chose to rear her daughter, Raechel Marie and her son, John Paul Running.
